On Set Photos Of New Moon!!!

| Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Here’s a round up of the latest Twilight Saga: New Moon pictures. For the uninitiated, New Moon is the second chapter in the Twilight series, which stirs things up by adding werewolves into the mix.
The official plot synopsis for the New Moon movie goes like this - (minor spoilers) “After Bella (Kristen Stewart) recovers from the vampire attack that almost claimed her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella’s blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward’s sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Danger in different forms awaits.”

To fill you in more, here’s the plot of the New Moon novel - (major spoilers) “Worried a member of his vampire family might attack her, Edward abandons Bella and leaves town. Bella is dismayed and turns to old family friend Jacob for comfort. Jacob is revealed to be a werewolf. Without Edward, Bella jumps off a cliff (because the adrenaline gives her a spiritual connection to him), and is rescued from the sea by Jacob. Edward’s vampire “sister”, has a vision of the event, but it doesn’t include the rescue. Assuming her to be dead, Edward travels to Italy to end his life. He is stopped just in time, but told by the Vampire Order than he must either kill Bella or turn her. It ends with Bella opting to be turned.”

The first Twilight movie was a huge smash hit, making $376 million around the world, before DVD. It’s one of the top 100 grossing movies of all time domestically.
The DVD sold 3 million units in its first day, on a par with the first day sales of The Dark Knight.

There was some doubt whether Taylor Lautner (above) would be reprising his role as Jacob Black, as it would mean transitioning from cameo role to main part. But after huge support from fans, and gaining 26 pounds of muscle, he was kept on.
Five relatively unknown American Indian actors have been cast as the “Wolf Pack” in New Moon - Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman.
IS THERE ANYONE ELSE ON THE SET WHO DOESN'T SMOKE!!!!!

Gallowwalker Update!!!

|

Wesley Snipes would be the perfect Michael Vick in the "Michael Vick Movie" - god forbid, there ever is one. In any event, Wesley Snipes was sentenced, April 24, 2008, to three years in the slammer for income tax evasion and for being just, well, a creep. The jury in the trial for which he was on for not filing income tax returns for three years, acquitted him on the two felony charges, but found him guilty on three misdemeanor charges relating to the trial. The judge, in his good sense, threw the book at Wesley Snipes, who reportedly owed taxes on more than $20 million of income.

As for the fate of "Gallowwalker," well, it is up in the air... and most likely will be a direct-to-DVD release, at some point.

Jumper 2 Update!!!

|

With Jumper opening at number one at the box office, the very obvious sequel set up could actually lead to something.

Hayden Christensen had this to say on the press tour - “Doug Liman, the director, already has another four stories in his head. I would love to do a follow up. It lends itself to it.”

To begin, here’s the plot of the second novel in the Jumper series, ‘Reflex’:

Once a teen struggling to escape an abusive father, Davy Rice is now a covert operative for the National Security Agency and happily married to Oklahoma psychologist Millie Harrison-Rice.

Enter sudden marital discord over starting a family, and Davy, eager to avoid the issue, jumps from their remote West Texas hideaway to a meeting in Washington, D.C., only to be snatched by an evil organization intent upon forcing “the asset” to work for them.

The baffled Millie keeps waiting for her husband to return, until she discovers that she, too, can teleport through space.

While Davy spends much of the book a defiant prisoner, Millie learns the joy of jumping. In her effort to rescue her husband, she goes to ground and hides her dangerous new ability from the NSA and Davy’s captors.

At the end, the inevitable question arises: will the next jumper do it in diapers?

Eek. Sounds horrible.

Given that the Paladin aren’t even in the books, how much of this will be lifted?

A lot, by the sounds of things.

“There’s one massive hint in the film for the ultimate twist in the sequel”, says Liman “Which is…I guess people will read the 2nd book so they’ll know, Rachel Bilson’s character learns how to teleport.”

“I also think if you went to work for the government you’d be the ultimate Jason Bourne.”

Jurrassic Park 4 Update!!!

While filming continues on M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, Marshall is actively moving forward with another major movie franchise, as they're developing a fourth movie starring Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, although a lot of elements still need to come into place. "We'd like to shoot next year," he told us. "It's trying to get everybody's schedules in the right place and getting the script right. We've done pretty well with these scripts that are pretty loosely put together, but I'd like the script to be really solid this time before we go forward. We're spending a lot of time on this story."

At one point, there were some thoughts that Damon might take on the role of Lance Armstrong in the biopic about the celebrity cyclist which is moving forward at Columbia Pictures, but Marshall said they'd be looking for a new up 'n' coming actor to take on the role instead. "The book really only takes Lance up to the first tour, so he's only 21, and as much as Matt looks young, I'm not sure that he's going to be able to do it." He'll be going to Europe in July to spend some time with Lance before starting work on Peter Morgan's directorial debut The Special Relationship about the relationship between British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former U.S. President Bill Clinton, as played by Michael Sheen and Dennis Quaid. It's being produced by HBO Films, so it may just debut on the cable station rather than going the theatrical route.

We asked the producing vet whether the recent disappointing showing for Universal's Land of the Lost might hinder the development of a fourth "Jurassic Park" movie but he didn't seem worried about that, even though that movie isn't imminent. "I think 'Land of the Lost,' it was a comedy. We just have to see if they can come up with a story. We don't have a story."

It was also reported earlier this year that Kennedy/Marshall was in negotiations to produce a remake of The NeverEnding Story, and Marshall explained his interest in the project. "We love the book and we've always thought there was an opportunity (because) there were a lot of elements in the book that weren't in the movie. It's another one where we're still working on the rights and it's a huge thing to get it. Once we get it, we'll bring on a writer, but that's kind of off in the distance. But it's a great story."

"Talisman is percolating, too," he said about the proposed TV mini-series based on the Stephen King-Peter Straub novel, though he was concerned about the recent reports of certain studios not having development money.

Marshall and his production company have a new deal at Sony, so they're going through their old libraries looking for projects that have stalled out that might be worth revisiting, one of them being The Last of the Metrozoids, based on the New Yorker article about art historian Kirk Vanedoe and his decision to coach a football team before he died of cancer shortly afterwards. Kennedy/Marshall are also interested in developing a movie for Universal from Warren St. John's book "Outcasts United: A Refugee Team, An American Town" which came out of his New York Times article about a soccer team made up of immigrants living just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

The Road Movie Trailer

"The Road" - The movie "The Road" is directly from the writer who brought you the "2008 Best Picture Oscar Winner," the movie "No Country For Old Men."

You already know that "No Country For Old Men" won a plethora of "2008 Oscars." Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor to name a few.

Well, "No Country For Old Men," before it was a movie, was a NY Times Best Selling novel by Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy.

Cormac McCarthy won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for his gripping, stunning and shocking post-apocalyptic novel, "The Road."

"The Road" - Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winner bestseller from acclaimed novelist Cormac McCarthy ("No Country For Old Men"), "The Road" is a post-apocalyptic dramatic thriller about a father and his son walking alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food--and each other.

In the movie "The Road" father is played by Oscar nominee Viggo Mortensen, ("Eastern Promises"), and son by newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee. Oscar winners Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron make brief but resonating appearances.

"The Road" is directed by John Hillcoat who received international acclaim for his 2005 film "The Proposition," which starred Guy Pearce, Ian McShane and Danny Huston.
